Who knows anything about the Cassie Bernall and Rachel Scott incident?

I love the song Cassie by Flyleaf and I would like to know the story behind it.

I do know it's about two girls who were killed because they said they believed in God, but like, what happened then?

Columbine.

The incident has become a myth after initial reports claimed the shooters asked their victims if they believed in God before executing them.  Some witnesses claim it happened, others don't.  It does not change the tragedy though.

Not quite. I learned about this in a school assembly. It was a school shooting. Some guys came in and just started shooting people at Columbine High School. Rachel Scott was a really sweet girl who cared about everybody. She was the first to die in the shooting. The story about Cassie Bernall is that she was asked if she believed in God before she was shot. She supposedly said yes. However, that story isn't true. Based on the timeline constructed by investigators and eyewitness accounts, there was no way she could have said that because she didn't have enough time. There was a girl nearby who was asked but she survived the attack and somehow, her answer became Cassie's.
