  1. "nanci"... that is a VERY GOOD answer to a complex question... simplicity is best... thank you for not making us "suffer" through a long redundant responce such as those that i'm sure will follow.

  2. it'a a myth about an old emperor.

  3. Buddha was a prince who wanted to understand why there was suffering in the world. He gave up everything he had and sat for many years under a tree in contemplation of that question. He came to the conclusion that suffering is the result of being attached to things in this world, and of desire. Train yourself not to want, and you will be free from suffering. That is the very short answer to a complex question. Hope it helps! :)

  4. BUDDHISM IS THE TEACHINGS OF BUDDHA (ONE WHO ATTAINED ENLIGHTENMENT) FROM SIDDHARTHA (PRINCE OF ANCIENT INDIA).

UPON SEEING SICK, OLD AGE AND DEATH, UPLIFTED HIS GREAT COMPASSION AND HENCE HIS JOURNEY TO SEEK THE *UNIVERSAL TRUTH*

Today, Buddhism is divided primarily into three traditions: Theravāda (Sanskrit: Sthaviravāda), Mahāyāna, and Vajrayāna and continues to attract followers worldwide. There are over 700 Million followers and is considered a major world religion. (the Fifth largest if you lump all Christian faiths together.)
