  1. Win or go home!!!!!!

  2. Four teams make it from each league (American and National) for a total of 8 teams.

Each league has 3 division winners make the post-season plus the next best team record wise (the Wild Card).

First round matchups (also known as the ALDS or NLDS) will have the team with the best record playing the wild card (unless they are from the same division in which case the team with the best record will play the division winner with the worst record).  They play best of 5 meaning the first team to win 3 games gets to advance to the next round.

The winners of the two first round matchups in each league then play a best of 7 series (also known as the ALCS or NLCS) which determines which teams go to the World Series.

  3. In the AL & NL, the first place team in each division makes the playoffs, plus one wild card team in each league.  The wild card team cannot play the team from its own division in the first round of play.  All 8 teams play, no byes.

  4. 1 team plays from each division and the national and american league have 1 wild card team each. All teams play in the first week of the playoffs

  5. That's Football with the bye-week.

  6. 1 for each division and a wild card that's 4 american league and 4 national league. no bye weeks. first round  best of 5 next round best of 7 and the world series best of 7
