I've just swapped my Sony DCR-DVD 101 for a Sony DCR-DVD 110E, have I made a mistake?

I was told the 110e was better, but now that I have it I'm not so sure.

  1. Was the first model a DCR-DVD101U?

The DCR-DVD101E is a camcorder that records video for the PAL region.  This is indicated by the E for "Europe" or "European"

The U stands for "United States" and designates a camcorder set to the american NTSC region.  There is also J for the "Japanese" NTSC region

These camcorders are all the same except for a small electronics board which controls processing of the signal taken from the image sensor and sets the frame rate before the video is send to the recording media.  Everything else is the same.
