  1. See Opal's answer.  She is telling you how it is.  My surgery took about 45 minutes for the right side (11 years ago), I had it done on a Friday morning and was back to work on Monday, no problem. My surgery was performed by an orthopaedic surgeon.

  2. It's endoscopic out-patient surgery.

  3.   Carpal is not a very serious or painful surgery, and recovery is usually a matter of a few weeks, and up to maybe six at the most.

Anesthetic is a local, and the surgery is very short, like about a 1/2 hour, give or take a little.

  4. i work in an OR and usually they do it as an open procedure but with a relatively small incision. You can look for either a hand specialist or a neuro surgeon to perform the surgery

  5. I had my left wrist done in 2006 and they couldnt do mine using lyposcopic they had to cut me open to repair the nerve sheath. so i guess it depends on how bad it is and the doctor but these would be good questions to ask your doctor prior to the procedure.
