  1. It can mean anything that the reader wants it to be.

If you are doing research you really should be more precise with your question and give the context of the phrase.

Otherwise you end up with a lot of gobbledygook on pages like this.

  2. SCO, in my experience, is Signal Communications Officer. It's one of many acronyms used in the Royal Navy, others being SWO, PWO(A) PWO etc... I could list them all but I plan on going to bed at some point tonight.

    United Kingdom... Scottish bit.

A'right, what's the thumb down for? My answer isn't wrong. It does answer the question, as the question was 'who knows what the SCO is.' And like it or not, while my answer probably isn't the one the questioner is looking for, it is still 100% correct.

  3. http://www.thehindu.com/2008/08/29/stori...

something we shouldn't be involved with

  4. SCO stands for Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

Here is some information about this Organisation:

Umm..it's something not for Europe neither the US..

  5. It is the Shanghai Co-operation organisation. I can't remember how many members it has, but they include Russia, China, and Uzbekistan. I think it's been around since the mid 19990's and its stated aim was to hold conferences and discussions which would increase trust and reduce tensions between neighbouring states, particularly in the wake of the breaking p of the Soviet Union. They have also had a number of joint military exercises, and have a full time subsidiary organisation called RATS, based in Tashkent, which coordinates and informs intelligence on and action against terrorism in their member states.

They are an interesting organisation, because while they have recently condemned Georgian actions in South Ossetia, they haven't come out in strong support of Russia either.

Unless you meant the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, which in my view is one of the most exciting and accomplished of its kind?

I'm British, a Scot, and am standing for the European Parliament next year. Sorry I don't know more detail
