  2. i think he was the first jewish baseball player.

  3. Great hitter, worthy Hall Of Famer.

There is an EXCELLENT biography movie of him, which is available on DVD.

  4. He was one of the great ballplayers of all-time. An outfielder-first baseman who spent most of his Hall of Fame career with the Detroit Tigers. After his playing career ended he was a manager and executive (for the Pirates, if my memory is correct).

He is widely regarded as the best Jewish position player of all time.

  5. He wasn't the 1st Jewish ballplayer!! lol He was probably one of the 1st great Jewish Ballplayers though that played during the war time era.  You can say that he was the Jew's Babe Ruth.  Big strong power hitter that put up some of the greatest offense numbers in a short span of years before having to go serve his country in WWII.  He along with Ted Williams, Bob Feller, Joe DiMaggio are histories .."what if" stars meaning "what if" that had played those seasons due to the war?? There career numbers could make been far greater plus they all missed years during their prime.  Greenberg probably hits 500 plus HR's, Ted Williams probably hits 675-700 HR's and has the greatest offense career numbers ever in the game.

  6. Hank Greenberg was a great baseball player.  He is the Hall of Fame and was quite a slugger having hit 58 homeruns in one season and driving in 183 runs in another season which is the 2nd most ever in the American League. He finished with 331 homers and a .313 career average mostly for the Detroit Tigers.  Hank was a big man standing nearly 6'4" and weighed about 210 lbs.  He was well loved and highly admired during his career.

  7. gambler and picks races horses and football games

  8. He was a great baseball star for Detroit way back when. Hey, I wouldn't mind an autographed photo or baseball if you have any extras lying around...!

  9. Everybody who knows baseball.

And yes, everybody knows your full of sh**.

  10. He was a great hitter during the 30's and 40's - he missed 3 seasons because of the war, but came back and continued to put up his big offensive numbers.   His 13 year career numbers were:

    HITS: 1628 - HR: 331 - RBI: 1276 - AVG: .312

  11. He is a baseball immortal. He also had to fight racism due to anti-Semitism.
