flies start to bite when its about to rain? And even lately I have noticed that they just bite when ever they feel like it...and these are normal flies; not deer flies or horseflies but normal house flies.

Anyone know why?

Thanks

  1. Normal flies don't have the equipment to bite anyone, even if they wanted to.  Their mouth consists mostly of a big, soft spongy blobber with which they slurp up pre-digested moist ick.

If you are being bitten by something, it's got to be something that actually has biting mouthparts, like a mosquito, blackfly, horsefly, deerfly, etc.

Biting activity of these insects generally increases shortly before a storm because ahead of the storm system, there's generally a drop in pressure creating the fabled "calm before the storm".  During this period, it's generally cloudy, cool, but with little or no wind - perfect conditions for flying insects.

  2. they are hungry

  3. Ummm.... Why don't you stop obesseing about flies, and get a life??

    Anyone with me?
