And House is just a role,the guy isnt so mean in his real life..

About the role:House is,in my opinion,an amazing doctor,with a huge knowledge,but,with lack of feelings.He was probably not loved enough and now he's mean.But he actually tells everybody,in that mean way,that he cares.

I love Doctor House, but don't understand his reasons for acting as he does, except, as I know from experience, being in pain makes you cranky. I'm having a bad day with fibromyalgia and wish I had some of  his Vicodin

House MD is  a brilliant show - one of the best ever.  

Most people who are mean were abused or bullied as kids - which House mentions that he was in an episode called "One Day, One Room".  His father was a Marine Corps officer - most of those guys are pretty miserable to have as a dad.

He's also in constant pain from his leg, which would make anyone irritable.  The Vicodin he takes is an opiate - which (like alcohol) loosens the inhibitions and lets you say things you might not otherwise say.

And he's a TV character - written that way to be funny and clever and miserable.  And Hugh Laurie is one of the best actors anywhere ever - and a really nice guy in real life.  Go to youtube.com and search for "Fry and Laurie" or Blackadder  and watch some of the hilarious British comedies he did before he got famous in America!

House is Brillient. He is fantastic at diagnostics. He gets the job done and if that means been harsh along the way then so be it... i'd have him as my Doctor anyday... so long as he'd do home visits!!
