  1. They are a lovely breed, and they can be used for just about any sport that you want. Friesians are gentle enough that even stallions can be handled and ridden by children- a rarity in the other breeds that I have worked with and known. This breed is very old, and it was developed in Norway. There are other horse breeds that came from there- the Fjord is one of these. One of the stallions at Iron Spring Farm in PA is a Friesian- though I can't recall his name. He is used to sire dressage and sport horses. I have heard of Teade- his name has been mentioned from time to time in some of the horse magazines I get. He's gorgeous to look at.

  2. Hey, Friesians are awesome, I live in TN and I went to Kentucky awhile back and was able to have some hands on time with them.  They are beutiful and very ..........docile.  To bad everybody doesn't know that in half the movies that the war horses are Friesians (King Arhtur etc...) There are other European bred horses that I enjoy too but I have to say that Friesians are one of the top.  In all honesty, I like all horses and I have owned both Apps and Quarters.

  3. I think Friesians are beautiful, especial teams of Friesians used for driving.  Gorgeous, gorgeous horses, but so relatively scarce that I haven't had the opportunity to get to know one personally.

  4. I enjoy other breeds more.
