Who loves to rev their bike under a bridge?

Question

I was riding my bicycle under a bridge and two Harley's were going by. The men (who were past middle aged) revved their bikes and nearly deafened me.

Is this childish behavior or what?

I did this when I was 18 it wasn't that much of a thrill.

Or maybe I need a louder bike for it to be fun?

As a kid I used to do it as well, kids with their underpowered Citroen saxos do it as well. It is just like when you are even younger you shout and like to hear the reverb We are a strange species aren't we.

I never found it to be anything exciting.  I noticed it while riding in Rolling Thunder a few years ago.  Now that I ride a loud bike, I can see the thrill.  But it is only fun in a big group.  

It's just two old guys acting like kids.  It's fun to let loose and act goofy every now and then.  I've been deafened by a bike under a bridge while riding in a convertible.  It was annoying, but I've experienced worse.  I try to be a little more conscience to the people around me, but my bike is REALLY loud, so sometimes I can't help it.  Live and let live.  You'll get over it.

I love revving my bike up under bridges. I love the sound. But, I can see if you were walking or something like that and it nearly made you deaf, that you would be ticked.

I don't know if I'd call it childish. Maybe it is. But I still love it.

I also like to do it in a truck that has awesome pipes too. It's just a thing I guess.

It is sign of an inner child plaintively crying to be noticed by the world.  These guys weren't hugged enough as children.

A motorcycle is a mans toy. They were playing with their toys. LOl Nah really you have to be a rider to understand. I've done it.

I've come down the road and see a group of kids walking on the sidewalk and I'll clutch it to roll up silent then pound the throttle scaring the c**p out of them. It's funny to see. Childish? Yeah but so what! Please forgive us for not being old rigid, bored, farts with no sense of humor. Every normal person has something they enjoy doing that brings out a child like sense of excitement.

Get over it, have some s*x. (with a woman!) Life's curve balls are more tolerable when you're getting some.

I'll admit, I've done it when part of a group when they do it...

but i don't go out of my way to do it when i'm by myself...

and to 20/20, attacking you for riding a bicycle, "get a brain, share the road..."

Well most people on the road with Harleys use deafening, illegal pipes anyways. New Hampshire is cracking down on it this year and people are getting busted, Cruiser or Sportbike.

I prefer tunnels, but yeah. It's fun. Especially on a Duc or in an Audi RS4 Twin Turbo.

The same people that feel a need to rev the bike at every stop. I want to ask them if they feel their bike will die if they don't rev it.

yes with a louder bike it is cool the loud rush gets you.
