Tyler Seguin (Boston Bruins)
Every new player, entering the NHL, dreams of winning the Stanley Cup in his career, but winning it in one's rookie season is a feat that misses many.
Tyler Seguin, however has done it, winning the Stanley Cup with Boston Bruins as a rookie in 2010-11, and this year he has been nominated for his first NHL All-Star Game.
Seguin scored 19 goals this year, plus 24 assists to secure his place in the All-Star roster, and he will be a player both the team captains will have their eye on.
Jason Spezza (Ottawa Senators)
Spezza was voted in second by the fans in the balloting for the game as he gained 817,483 votes.
Ottawa Senators' centre, Jason Spezza, with his teammates has been brilliant in the season and will play his second All-Star game, having made a previous appearance in 2008.
Spezza scored 20 goals and made 30 assists for a total of 50 points.
Steven Stamkos (Tampa Bay Lightning)
Tampa Bay Lightning is one of the worst teams this year with a 21-23-4 record, but that statistic has not stopped Steven Stamkos.
The centre has scored 32 goals this season and added a further 20 assists to become Tampa Bay’s top scorer and secure his place in the All-Star game for the second time in his career.
Stamkos has a total of 52 points this season.
John Tavares (New York Islanders)
Tavares is New York Islanders only representative in this year’s All-Star game. The young forward is on fire this season, leading Islanders' scoring charts.
Tavares has scored 20 goals this season and assisted for a further 29, accumulating a total of 49 points.
The 21-year-old is now in line for his first All-Star game appearance this season.
All-Star Defensemen
Brian Campbell (Florida Panthers)
Campbell is the only representative from Florida Panthers in the All-Star game this year. The defenseman will play his first All-Star game on the weekend after some brilliant performances on the rink.
The 32-year-old has scored three goals while making 32 assists, as Panthers remain seventh in the Eastern Conference.
Alexander Edler (Vancouver Canucks)
The 25-year-old Vancouver Canucks' defenseman, Alexander Edler will play his first All-Star game this year after some good performances.
Edler has scored seven goals this season while making a further 27 assists for a total of 34 points.
Daniel Girardi (New York Rangers)
The 27-year-old New York Rangers' defenseman, Daniel Girardi has scored four goals and made 13 assists this season for a total of 17 points, and his brilliant defensive performances have helped Rangers' goaltender, Henrik Lundqvist rack up 5 shutouts this
season.
Girardi will play his first All-Star game this week.
Erik Karlsson (Ottawa Senators)
The only defenseman voted in by the fans, Ottawa Senators' defenseman, Erik Karlsson received 939,591 votes to get into his second All-Star game.
This will be the defenseman’s consecutive All-Star game appearance, after playing last year as well.
Karlsson has scored seven goals and made a mammoth 40 assists this year, to seal his name among the best of the NHL this season.
Kris Letang (Pittsburgh Penguins)
The 24-year-old Pittsburgh Penguins' defenseman, Kris Letang will be playing his second All-Star game this season. Letang was previously named in the All-Star roster in 2011.
The defenseman scored five goals this season and made a further 18 assists, for a total of 23 points.
Dion Phaneuf (Toronto Maple Leafs)
The only non-Senator to be voted into the All-Star game by fans, Toronto Maple Leafs' 26-year-old defenseman, Dion Phaneuf received 614,933 votes.
The defenseman just about managed to beat off competition from Senators' Sergei Gonchar.
Phaneuf scored seven goals this season and made 21 assists for a total of 28 points, to enter his career's third All-Star game.
