Question:

Who made my windows?????

ok i just moved into a new house and i have crank windows. unfortunately, some of them are in need of repair and i can't find who made them. am i looking in teh right spots? is there somebody i can ask thats a pro(without the sales pitch).

  1. take a pitcher of one ,then take it to some of the window companies around your town,might be able to find out this way.take several shots at diff. angles, and of the crank

  2. Either take the crank off the window and look on the inside, or there should be a sticker somewhere on the window with some numbers and the manufacturer's name.  

  3. Look very closely at the corners of the glass. If it says 'AW' it's and Anderson. If you need new crank mech. and its not an Anderson then it may be Truth hardware which will be stamped on one of the arms. Truth hardware is usually available at window supply houses. If its Anderson then you will need to find an Anderson supplier.

  4. The real issue is finding spare parts i.e crank, gears. Some window parts are interchangeable among various manufacturers. The manufacturer's name probably won't appear on the glazing but you may find it on the gear assembly.
