Who makes Kenmore window air conditioners

Question

Need to buy a good (quiet hopefully) 12000BTU window unit. Who makes Kenmore window units? Have been looking at Kenmore, Frigidaire, LG, and Amana. Any ideas?

Kenmore is sears brand, lennick is the best

Most of the insides are made in China and the manufacturer just sticks their name on it. Same is true for microwaves. Look for one that is manufactured in the US.

I'm not sure who Sears has negotiated a contract with recently to manufacture their line of AC equipment.  I know it used to be Amana though and at one point I had heard it was going to be  GE.  You can ask at the store, however, I doubt if the salesperson will know.

So long as you stay with a "name brand" I would think the quality is about the same.
