I know it was manufactured between 1971-1972, per, http://www.searsarchives.com/history/files/sewing_id.pdf. I just don't know how to find out who manufactured it. It's a great machine, it's heavy and runs well. I've had no problems out of it. However, if I ever need to replace it, I would like to know which brand to purchase.

  1. Sears customer service can probably tell you.  I believe the first three digits of the model give you the manufacturer.  I *think* (but don't know for sure) that you've probably got a White.  Whites are not the machine they were then...

Currently good brands that I'd consider (some harder than others!):

Bernina, Elna, Husqvarna/Viking, Janome, Juki, Pfaff, Toyota
