Chamberlain seem to have won hands down!

  1. They are about equal. I have used both and have not had any problems. I would look at the warranty they provide and how long it lasts. Another thing is to talk to the supplier and find out what the process entales if there is a problem. Find out if you have to ship it or just bring it back in.

The way that new things are made I dont trust any modern electrical equipment to last as long as the old style. You might look at what your local door specialists use.

  2. Yep.  The last two fellows have it right.  Over the years we have serviced and/or installed all brands of openers and Chamberlain/LiftMaster openers far surpass Genie in materials and function.  We have to put our company name behind what we sell and we have been proud to sell LiftMaster (Chamberlain's professional line) for years.  Dependable and built right.

  3. The Chamberlain Whisper Drive, is the best by far. It is belt driven, super quiet, and has the better warranty. I have been to demonstrations by both companies, and was so impressed with the Chamberlain, I put one in my own home, and I love it. I replaced a perfectly good Genie with it.

  4. i have installed and replaced both...i find that the chamberlain to be a better opener...stronger and more reliable....
