Who makes better dirt bikes, Yamaha or Kawasaki, why?

IMO yamaha{hoinda being #1 for j*p bikes} would be a better machine because of all the stealers around.

Ive never messed with yamahas, the only kawasaki we ever had was junk, and hondas all seem to be almost bulletproof mechanically.

But it doesn't matter what brand because they are all so close. It depends on YOU, how hard you ride, and how you maintain the bike. Do a good job and a used bike can be better than a new bike.

think of it this way:

in the old days all the top 4 Japanese motorcycle corporations used to have their own group of Engineers on the payroll

now they no longer employ their own Engineers, they subcontract independent Engineering Firms to design their motorcycles, and the top 4 use the same private engineers

so basically they are all almost the same, except for some cost savings measured and cosmetic looks

Both are about the same.

If Yamaha were really any better than Kawasaki, no one would buy the Kawasaki.  Kawasaki would be forced to quit making dirt bikes that no one would buy.  Last time I looked, Kawasaki was still selling plenty of dirt bikes.

It is all personal preference on which one a person buys.  Go to a dealer and test ride both of them.  Get the one YOU like most.  If you like them both the same, flip a coin.
