Those who encounter a piece of work determine whether or not it is art. Personally, I believe that ART touches the senses but has no 'essentiality'. It is not necessary for continued existence, but it is necessary for the survival of the human species. Those who can survive without ART are those who, like robots, fulfill their so-called function without being aware of anything else in life. Humans are the species that include individuals who are so aware. Without ART we cease to be human.
