i saw on tv this pizza with golden crust and it had the kind of toppings you would normally see on deep dish Chicago style pizzas (it was not a deep dish however). if i could remember correctly, i think it had a lot of exposed sausage pieces on top in place of what would typically be the cheese, and the sauce/cheese mixture was below this layer. then, it was finished off with the big pieces of green bell pepper scattered on top. it had an oily crust (just how i like it), it looked so beautiful! please tell me of places you know that might have something like this (in Chicago).

  1. Lou Malnatis.

Someone else said pizzaria uno, that is good pizza, but it isnt as good.

There was a chef that worked at unos a really really long time ago that gave the unos receipe to lous malnatis, thats how lou malnatis started.  so both of the pizzas taste similar.  Unos has a flakier crust, and Lous is thicker, but I think it tastes better.

If you want real Chicago style deep dish pizza, go with lou malnatis you will not be disappointed.

  2. Pizzeria Uno and Gino's East are both gr8

  3. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...

  4. Pizzeria Uno.

  5. Lou Malnati's has the best pizza in Chicago. The Lou's Special is my favorite. It's a veggie pizza and you can get it with their thick butter crust. Hmmmm!

  6. I would say Giordano´s has the best...

  7. It might have been Gino's East or Giordano's.  Gino's East was on the Food Network recently, Lou Malnati's has been on there too.

  8. I really like Lou Malnati's.  It is pretty unique tasting.  I think the crust is made of a beer bread type of dough.  It actually tastes a little like a beer.  There are so many good pizza places in Chicago.
