Who makes the treo?

Who makes the palm treo? is palm a manufacturer or just a sort of branch from say Motorola? im just wondering because i know its really easy to mod Motorolas and i might get my dads treo and i want to geek it up. and if anyone has some suggestions on good mods or websites to put on it, throw that out there too. thanks.

Palm makes the treo.  Palm used to be 1 company with both a palm os and palm PDAs.  They later broke into 2 separate companies palm os, and palm.  The palm treo used to have the palm os on it but in later revisions have switched to the windows mobile 5 os.  

Make sure you get the one with the windows mobile 5 on it. Palm OS sucks.

Palm has no relations with Motorola.
