Canada is abundant with Lakes.Who named them,and why?Lake Temagami,Lake Ahmic,Cecebe Lake,Doe Lake,Muskrat Lake,North Bay,Lake Simcoe,Lake of the Woods,Pickerel Lake,Elk Lake,Head Lake,Martin River,French River,Lovesick Lake.Get the message??Who makes the call.Why? How come??? Thanks to participants.

  1. Canada doesn&#039;t touch Lake Michigan.

    But, why are you only wondering about lakes and rivers?  What about the provinces?  the mountains?  the forests?  the animals?  words?

    That&#039;s all that names are.  Words.  How does a word come into use?  People agree to use the word to communicate with each other.  So, who named a lake?  It doesn&#039;t matter.  What matters is that someone published a map so that everyone calls the lake by the same name.

    Also remember that for the same concept, there are different words in different languages.  The biggest of the Great Lakes...  Is it called Lake Superior or Gitchie Gumi?  It may have had many other names in the past.  Its name might change in the future.
