Who needs trees? Why do we need trees? Can't we just cut'em up and burn them all?

So I see, trees are part of the carbon cycle or recycling system. They take up or back the CO2 that we,our coal-powered electricity generating plants and our cars produce and put back the oxygen we need to breathe.. If that's true why do they keep cutting down the big trees in the city? Don't we need them there the most? Dothe tree-cutters know that they are creating a breathing problem?

Well, we need trees to live. Duh... If you want to die, then there would be no use. They give us oxygen to live, and we give them carbon dioxide to them. We help eachother stay alive.

No no no! Without trees, it destroys the whole ecosystem. Not to mention a huge reduction in oxygen amount and a huge increase in CO2 amount. Obviously you know about photosynthesis by now and how it uses CO2  and such and gives O2 as a bi-product. And we use O2 in respiration. Respiration is not just breathing, my good fellow, it is also used to break down food from polyermers to monomers so that we can use our food and put it into our cells. And as we burn our O2 during our Respiration we give CO2 as our bi-product. We need trees to survive.

Everyone needs trees. You can't just cut them up and burn them. There good for something - like shade from the hot sun in summer.

Everyone should be planting trees instead of cutting them down. Of course, if you need firewood to heat your home, then some trees have to be cut down.

But be careful where you cut - trees have a lot of roots - which help prevent soil erosion, landslides, etc.

Trees make oxygen too, so we can all breathe better.

And trees are nice to have in the house too - like bonsai.

And lots of trees have fruit that is very tasty. Could you live without fruit?

Trees are a good source of nuts too. So that's an added bonus.
