Gasoline is distilled from crude oil, just like moonshine whiskey is distilled from corn mash. When crude oil is heated to boiling, various liquids like kerosene, jet fuel, diesil fuel, and gasoline, condense at different temperatures.

There really isn't a chemical formula except for the various additives required by the EPA, and various octane ratings.

gasoline or petrol is distilled from crude oil...its primary source...but some scientists or 1 who i know an woman from india(maharashta,pune) has distilled it from plastic in her lab and created petrol(gasoline)...the test is going on on some bikes(1-2 yrs have passed) check out in the web maybe it may have yielded some results....i had read it in a magzine named 'Autocar india' in the year 2005...
