  1. moved here in '96.  it was smooth because my new job paid for my moving expenses.   love it here and will never leave.  I may own houses in other places, but atl is my home 4 life.

  2. I moved here 6 1/2 years ago from a small town on the Georgia coast.  I found a great apartment in Alpharetta (now Milton) close to my new job.  Made friends with people at work and enjoyed driving around and getting to know the area.

I've since moved on to a different job.  I bought a condo in Decatur and have put down roots.  I'm not too interested in moving away from Atlanta, unless it is to Europe.

For me the top three attractions are:  lots of stuff to do all the time, moderate climate, and being an airport hub.

  3. I grew up outside of Atlanta and after high school moved to New York City. I lived there for a while, but decided to relocate back to Atlanta for the sake of money and job opportunities. At first I thought I would hate it back here compared to New York City. It took me a year to get reacquainted with Atlanta, but after that I don't want to live anywhere else.

Atlanta has so many nooks and crannies to find out about. There are so many neighborhoods and each has their own personality and offerings. Yes, Atlanta does have traffic problems and no decent mass transit system, but if you live inside the perimeter and learn where everything is and be willing to explore it will be wonderful.
