well first of all im thankful that im not a stupid little girl that drinks to impress someone or drinks whatever is around just to get drunk. Im not saying im all high and mighty but i drink occasionally and not to the point where i dont know where im at or what the h**l im doing. sometimes i drink to celebrate, sometimes to relax, sometimes just because its tasty. If you are old enough to drink do it because you want to, not because of peer pressure, especially not if you are having problems because alcohol will not help you forget your problems it will remind you even more and you will do stupid things you wouldnt do normaly

Sometimes my kids drive me absolutely insane. There are times I reach for that ever comforting Southern Comfort and lime. Other times, I just send them to bed and go to bed myself. lol

There is some research showing a genetic link to alcoholism; however, it still comes down to choice.

Also, in all research,  alcholol has few benefits  if any, and more negatives: such as addiction, social problems including and not limited to relationships, and more than anything can cause severe depression in many people.

More people begin drinking for social pleasure, to unwind, or to fit in, but, few people, get it ,that alcholol is a depressant!!

If you need alcholol to have a good time, I would re-evaluate your meaning of good time.

And if you haven't started; don't!

Denis, I agree with that list!!  I usually drink because of the crazy people I work with (I work with the public) or because I am stressed or I feel like it.  I go to Miller Lite or Bacardi and Cherry Coke.

I needed a reason to drink?  I thought I was driven to drink by everyone and everything around me, good or bad, happy or sad -- I didn't need anything to drive me to drink except my alcoholic brain.  When I did drink I got the good stuff.... I asked this very  question in here  the  girl i gave  the  best6  answer to said it is what you do after a hard day and  it is   a  "sort of" celebration  of  being back in your  home.. I have  been dong this fr or some timer and It is not   a "Slobish" thing for  me. I drink very good things and  well prepared It is  as  a different  best answer  said  "classy" to  put a  cigar and  listen to good music and  relax. And since i have  been smoking cigars and  do  that in Private it  shows  respect to others. Nobody  wants  to be  around  a  slob  so  you make drinking  something  classy. You DO NOT  pour  lemonade  over  any  glass of "Hootch" you get the good liquor out a good  cigar and  listen to Harry connick or  some  Miles  Davis  and  you  have a  sort of  celebration that you are  home or at a party. Not  a mug of  "Mad dog"   and  cookies.
