  1. yes. one of my friends is over there(iraq). its kinda creepy. she keeps getting hurt(but not by guns ect lol)

  2. No, it is LONG PAST TIME to bring them back home. They shouldn't have been sent to begin with, and wouldn't have if the Congress and people of the US hadn't been lied to. It's also put our economy in a hole and lost us the respect of the majority of the planet.

  3. where have you been?

  4. The war should be over. People should come back home and make love.

  5. not yet, we have pretty much destroyed al queida in iraq, we have the taliban to go in afghanistan, if we pull out right now, they will swarm back in, and regroup and start attacks again all over the world.

  6. I have a different take on it.

What do you call it when your military decimates another nation's defenses, occupies their capitol, and deposes their government?  I'd say that is called "winning a war".  And that's what happened 6 and 7 years ago in Iraq and Afghanistan.

So what's been going on ever since?  The right term is "occupation."

Now, our U.S. military is fabulous about winning wars if given a properly defined mission.  They are not trained or equipped to administer an occupation, though they might perform certain essential functions.

If our civilian leaders had understood how to pursue a successful occupation (or if the commander in chief had even known how to pronounce it) then maybe we'd have accomplished our goals and enjoyed the fruits of our sacrifice.  Unfortunately, we blew it.  And people can continue to say "it's inviting defeat" or "we must stay 'til the job is done" but in reality, we are now too late.

Al Qaeda, for those who don't know, is safe in the Pakistani-Afghani border, and they're still able to slaughter those tribal chiefs who've led the "Sunni Awakening" and to take out swathes of Iraqi Police recruits with suicide bombers.  Decimated?  I don't see it.

If we really want to win the culture war, then we must find an orderly way to end the military war.  Otherwise we'll continue to enrage Iraqis and Afghanis by acting as conquerors and by our occasional accidental (or reckless) killing of civilians.

The way to reduce extremism is through culture and contact, not violence and occupation.

  7. In for a penny, in for a pound.  Stay until the job is done. Quitters never win.  Perhaps a change in goals would be okay, but we can't just cut and run.

  8. Yes, I think that it is time to support our troops and bring them home from Iraq.  I was against the war from the beginning.  It seems and seemed to me at the time that the USA attacked a sovereign nation without provocation.  It was like a preemptive strike but on a grander scale.

  9. Just like everyone, I hate war . . .I've lived long enough to have seen 6 major wars and conflicts. . . .We have entered them all for the right reasons, but sometimes those reasons have changed. . . Getting out of a war is not easy. .Some one wins and some one looses. . .  .just bringing our young men home, may bring the war with them onto our own soil. .  ..This here is the trickiest one I've seen. . .just pray for the men making decisions so they make the right ones, and pray for our boys over there. . .that's all we can do. . .

  10. of course, you're right. war is nothing good. it means so much destruction and loss of lives.
