  1. It's part of the Langan's group of restaurants.

  2. Shepherd's Restaurant, is partly owned by Michael Caine (Yes the Actor) and is situated in Marsham Street, and I and my wife maureen feel that we are very fortunate in the fact that we live just a 5 minute walk from this superb Restaurant.

I may describe that Marsham Street is quite close to the Houses of Parliament, and is also full of blocks of flats where many of the Members of Parliament or Lords live. In fact MPs make up so much of their customers that Shepherd’s has installed a division bell; this means that when a vote is called, they have ten minutes to get back. A sure way to get heartburn and spoil a delicious dinner!

The walls are festooned with a recipe of fine art, posters and several of the many hilarious 'JAK' cartoons (Evening Standard), concerning some of the previous exploits of the late Peter Langan, Sir Michael Caine and Richard Shepherd, CBE.

Shepherd's is a super commercial for how wide-ranging, imaginative and flavoursome authentic English cooking can be, a long way from unsavoury stodge of legend.

The various gastronomic highlights consist of their crab and brandy soup, breathtaking salmon and prawn fishcakes, superb grouse (in season only), and spectacular renditions of famous, but on occasion strange sounding, English puddings like 'Eton mess' and 'Burnt Cambridge creams' - if you don't know what they are, why not ask?

  3. Mr. Shepard
