    .

  10. It was a commercial investment by the BAA. So, it was the shareholders of the BAA - a wholey private company - that paid for it.

Before it was sold recently, BAA owned a property management company as an additional source of income. This in-house expertise was useful when it came to building T5.

The Spanish company Ferrovial has now bought the BAA and so they now own T5. Ferrovial had to borrow many £millions to buy BAA so it will probably take them decades before they get their money back.

After the shambolic T5 opening I would not be surprised if their shareholders wondered what they've spent their money on and started demanding that some people be thrown into the nearest Bull Ring.

    British Airways are just tenants.
