  1. the base that the planes are from...normally nascar lets the military have free tickets..which is a morale issue with troops and they get to go in the pits etc...in return they fly over the races..and it is one of the most awesome things in the world to be in the stands with fellow americans cheering as they fly over...my husband is active duty air force and we have been to many races because they gave us free tickets

  2. We all do, but It's also a recruiting tool.

  3. Tax payers but it is well worth it.

  4. They have to fly those aircraft anyway. It's like a training mission for the Air Force, but they let the public think it's a special display for the NASCAR spectators. I've seen some awesome flights by the Air Force without any particular events when they were doing missions from a  Air Force Base. (not to mention the facility)

  5. Your tax dollars at work LOL

  6. The fly overs before the races are ceremonial, how ever they also provide training for the air crews involved.

From the Logistics to the ground crews to the pilots them self, the fly over is treated as a training mission. They are timed and are exicuted to teach and train these airmen to perform their mission for the protection of our country.

Each fly over is a symbol of freedom. And this freedom can not have a cost put on it.

  7. The same people who pay for any other air force flight, taxpayers. Now before you get upset about this, these aircraft are already on training missions anyway, the flyover's just added to the mission profile.
