Who pays for this and that?

Who pays for what in a wedding? The bridesmaids' attire, the groomsmens' attire? So on and so forth. And what the heck is that something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue?

In modern days, it's kinda all over the place.

Traditionally--the bride's family pays for nearly everything.

The groom's family pays for the rehearsal dinner, the bride's bouquet, and his own attire.

In the US, the groomsmen and bridesmaids pay for their own attire.  But in UK, the bride does.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence in her shoe is an old poem for good luck.  A superstitious bride will find Something of each for her wedding day.  I had my bridesmaids in blue, most stuff was new, shoes were old, my jewelry was borrowed (and so was my husband's wedding band as his didn't make it to church--borrowed from my grandfather who said it had 60 yrs of good marriage background).
