  1. Nothing is "standard" these days, but this is what we are doing.

ALL attendants, bridesmaids and groomsmen pay their own attire.

His parents are paying for the alcohol at the reception, the rehersal dinner, and the boutineers.

We (bride and groom) are paying for all the extras I need for the wedding (since I am a perfectionist and over the top. lol. )  Some things include favor boxes, dove release, transportation, jewelry, attendants gifts.  We are also doing all the decorations.

My parents are paying for everything else for the wedding and reception. Including the wedding dress, food, hall, cake, and even paying part of our honeymoon. :)

  2. they pay for their own attire....general rule of thumb...brides parents cover the wedding grooms parents cover the honeymoon...but its really not so strict these days

  4. bridesmaids pay for their own attire. groomsmen pay for their own.

and everything else is up to the bride and groom.. if either set of parents offers to help, thats great

  5. Bridesmaids and groomsmen pay for their own outfits, but it's customary to buy them a small gift to thank them for being in the wedding. In one wedding I was in, the gift was the purse and jewelry to wear with the bridesmaid dress.

As for the actual wedding, traditionally, the bride's parents, but it's common these days for the people getting married to pay for it themselves.
