If you go test drive a car and you get a speeding ticket or get into a minor accident, who pays for it?

  1. You pay the speeding ticket and you'll also pay any fine for the accident. But their insurance will pay the damages unless they required your insurance information prior to the test drive.

  3. The accident would be paid for by insurance, likely with subrogation, depending on the severity of the accident, and the fault.  Speeding tickets get paid by the driver.  Dealerships record driver licence numbers of test drivers in case they get red light tickets.

  4. Whom ever is behind the wheel at the time....so if you test drive one...you are responsible for any speeding or accident. Now if you were stopped and a brake light or tail light was broken or out...then the dealer would be responsible...but don't always assume they are going to pay the ticket...after all it is in your name. If they don't pay it...then the police come looking for you and can / will arrest you.

  5. You do!!! If you are ehind the wheel you are responsable!!!
