the bbc pay them, as far as I am aware there is no external production company, as the bbc pay them out of your tv licence, in theory, as long as you pay your tv licence, you are paying them.

I agree with Aled, although lots of EE actors get paid by various companies to appear in magazines, on TV shows, presenting etc..

Every star of eastenders is sponsored by 100 real east end people. This enables each star to be provided with enough food and water to live and in turn each of the sponsors recieves a bi-monthly update on how their star is getting on.

Ultimately, it's the tv licence payers. That's why I don't pay for a licence.
