  1. Heath Ledger NO DOUBT!!

    i thought he was amazing,

he may be up for the oscars too.

    (r.i.p)

  2. The first actor to portray the character of "The Joker" was the actor Cesar Romero in the 1966 Batman: The Movie, staring Adam West & Burt Ward form the famed 60's TV series. His portrayal of the character was that of a villainous comic buffoon (Considering the TV series and movie was a satire and a campy portrayal of the comic books.

The second actor was of course Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton's 1989 Batman. Nicholson turned in a fine performance and paid homage to the portrayal of the character from the 60's It was a blend of the comic villainy from the TV series mixed with a little bit of the madness from the comics.

The third actor to play the character was Mark Hamil (AKA Luke Skywalker from Star Wars), who voiced the villain in the Batman: The Animated Series and subsequent Animated Films that followed. His voice performance was top notch. He turned in a character that was both a tiny bit psychotic and villainous. After all it is made mostly for younger viewers.

Heath Ledger performance in the latest incarnation is second to none, may he rest in piece. He plays the Joker with a dark psychotic edge and by far the most villainous yet. You don't want to mess with this Joker. In The Dark Knight, the Joker represents the dark side of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Being similar polar opposites in a way, this Joker represents what  Batman/Bruce Wayne could have become should he taken the path of evil.

Each actor has brough their own interpretaion and personal spin of the portrayal of the character in each film. All are good in their own right and each actor make these films enjoyable. The end result falls to a matter of personal taste - "Which Joker Did I Like The Best?"

For me personally, they're all good and I couldn't have picked better actors to play the character myself.

  3. Heath Ledger

  4. well as we all know your not taking into account that they are both good for their time jacks performance while not on par with the origianl joker from the the start of comic(but so you know the jokers character in the comics personality change so before you say not like the original comic joker youre wrong so dont argue and eyes forward.)but nicholson at the time was the best suited and sought after actor.the joker potrayed by ledgers character carrys more of the killing joke quality then any comic base so i see this as a neverending standoff of choice.

  5. Even though I never saw "The Dark Knight" yet (and saw only the original "Batman" with Jack Nicholson playing the original Joker), I say the late Heath Ledger delivered us a great acting performance while playing the best Joker in the new "Batman" franchise. His on-screen villainous character has drawn in lots of film hype since his accidental fatal overdose last January, and audiences were glad to see Ledger's swan song. Heath would have been proud.

  6. Heath Ledger!!!! He was so awesome in that movie! I was so sad when i found out that he died! R.I.P.

  7. Heath Ledger all the way!!! RIP

  8. did u watch the dark knight???

    its obvious

its HEATH LEDGER!!! (rest in peace...)

  9. The question isn't "who played the Joker better", but "who played the better Joker". Now, Jack Nicholson's portrayal of the Joker is that of a clown; that's just not who the Joker ever has been in the comic books. The Joker of The Dark Knight is the comic-book Joker, and, in my opinion, the "better Joker". The lunatic terrorist who's absolutely terrifying to watch interests me more than the clown. Sorry, Nicholson fans but im going with Heath,
