Andy Serkis also does play Smeagol in the creepy flashback of him frolicking by the riverside with his little friend. Am I alone in finding him more pleasant  after he has metamorphosed into Gollum?

I suppose in defence of the question, the asker did enquire about the film. So maybe she didn't have the spelling correct as she hadn't seen the name written. And if you tried to google Smigel god knows what would come up. So I suppose it's only a little slack.....

in the movie, Andy Serkis.....although he technically only does the voice, the body and all is him with sensors on him that eventually got computer generated

i believe he will do smeagol in the upcoming hobbit movie as well
