  1. i play defense cuz i think my team is a bunch of manhunts!

  2. When I played I was usually defense too and at first I didn't like it much either because I felt like I wasn't in on the action because I wasn't able to try to score goals.  I realized though that defense is a great position to play with a lot of responsibility.  The reason your coach put you in that position could be for any number of reasons including that maybe he thinks you have a more defensive style and also you could have a good build for a defender.  If you want to improve in defense I would suggest watching videos of professional defenders and trying to get some skills from watching what they do.  A good defender marks their opponent diligently. When an attacker is coming towards you, you need to move in very close to them and try to cut them off, blocking their ability to dribble the ball around you. Also, never turn your back to your opponent, always stay facing them in a wide stance, making it harder for them to get the ball past you and also easier for you to either get the ball yourself or clear it. Another great skill to have is heading the ball because often the ball will be lobbed from the other end and its to your advantage if you can head the ball back in the direction it came, especially if there is an attacker near you because if you let it hit the ground there is a greater chance that you will have to fight for it with an opposing teams player. Hope that helps! Oh and if you want to see some great defending I would suggest you check out Liverpool FC players, Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Aurelio and others, they are amazing :)

  3. I used to play right back in football for 9 years (never played soccer). I also played as striker a brief period of time, but didn't like it quite as much. Too much running.

  4. You have to keep your eye on the ball and the other players. I always play there and now I can't be an attacker, so you might want to ask your coach to switch it up a little bit like attacker some games and defense other games.

  5. I do, I play last man in defense. I enjoy it cuz I enjoy sliding tackles very much. But sometimes its not so good as you're stuck way in the back while everyone is infront playing and shooting and thats a bummer. But I like it alot and its a really important role.
