  1. Plato.  You and I should be next door neighbours, I could listen to your music through the wall all day.

Here's mine and wadda guy,  My 1970s hearthrob.

  2. When I think of western music I think of artists like Red Steagal, Waddie Mitchell, Don Edwards Michael Martin Murphy & the Sons of the San Juaquin Valley. All are great musicians and I enjoy all their music. I prefer a song about how things were simpler in the old west than what they are singing about today. Even if the songs are about herding cattle across the great plains of Texas and having to deal with the heat and exhaustion. The songs back then were at least about real hard working cowboys.

  3. True classic country and western sounds. They don't make like that anymore.Gosh I miss that style music.

  4. Great stuff! I like Johnny Horton's version of "When it's Springtime in Alaska, it's Forty Below" a bit better, though. And if you like old C&W, it's hard to beat Hank Sr.!

  5. My kind of music!  Hank Snow is one of my favorites.   I have a version of Oklahoma Hills on my Youtube favorites list but this one has much better sound quality.  I'm going to delete the old one and add this one.  Thanks so much for posting!

  6. Yes I love all the oldies! I have an internet radio tuned to Classic Country 1630 all day I am home!

  7. and the young ones playing the old songs,

    i digress

big john is about as far as i go whiff country and weston

not dizzing you taste,,everybody to their own

aint most of them about somebody dying or something,,,

lobbing themselves over bridges or under combine harvesters,,

dunno not my " thang" man

  9. You must listen to Marty Robbins (El Passo) and Tom Russell--2 greats from C&W

  10. I'm not really that keen on Country, to be honest Plato.

I prefer that style of country. They do a lot of cover versions of rock songs, they're quite good.

  11. If mainstream calls it country and it came out after 2000 i hate it. that isn't country that's c**p! the old country and western is the best!

  12. I like western songs compare to the oldies !

  13. Hi Plato

The first #1 country song in history.  And it still sounds good today.

I'd rather listen to a bad REAL country song than the best of today's pop/rock "country"!!
