  3. Santa's Elves.  That is what they do in the off season, since they dont make toys anymore.  Their work has been outsourced to China.  That is where the lead decorated toys Santa has been leaving come from.

  4. The Massachusetts Parks Department puts the "Danger, Thin Ice" signs on trees growing around the ponds/lakes/rivers There are clips on the trees, so when skating is safe, they just change the sign. They don't put the sign in the middle of the pond.
