Who puts out Antivirus2009? And is it safe to use?

I just recently down loaded this program and I thought it was from Microsoft.

Antivirus2009 is a fake antivirus. It installs a trojan. Download SUPERantispyware and run a full system scan to delete it.

No it is not safe to use. It is a serious spyware program.

There is even a site for a removal tool for it. If I were you

I would download either spybot search and destroy or

adaware and run them.If you are looking for a good antivirus

program I would suggest AVG, it is free and it updates itself for free also.

I'll tell you this, if you keep getting pop ups that you can't stop and they keep telling you that your PC is infected and that you should buy the latest version, my friend you have just downloaded a virus.....=(  

Antivirus2008 & 2009 is 9 times out of ten a virus, please be careful!!!!!!! its a fake! usually a Trojan.

Go to Best Buy and have Geek Squad look at it (for free) asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they can tell you if you have a virus, what kind and remove it if you have one....Other than that I don't know who makes it....(the Government  I guess to make more money )  well good luck with that!!!!!!!!

Antivirus 2009 is an unwanted program, from the authors of Antivirus 2008 . These applications have resembling interface and "features". After stealth installation, Antivirus 2009 will show tonns of fake spyware\adware detection messages and offers to remove reported threats (after you purchase commercial version). But in real Antivirus 2009 is not a spyware cleaner, it's just an imitation of spyware remover. Antivirus 2009 can also slow your computer and cause system errors and crashes. Remove Antivirus 2009 using manual removal instructions (for advanced users) or removal tool.

Yep its a fake and should not be installed.

It a rogue program.Not safe at all!!you won`t find it in your add/remove programs for that very reason.they don`t want you to get rid of it. Run ad-aware full scan: superantispy, spybot, basically what ever antispy- ware programs that you have, and your anti-virus  program as well. update them all first...run them in safe mode. all that will take some time but you are going to have to do it. good luck!.....one more note...spybot does recognize it as spyware in their scans because it just showed in  a scan i did there earlier today...and always remember to immunize S&D after any updates.
