  1. The ones who put out forest fires are from air and not intentionally forest rangers but fire fighters. The sometimes would have a helicopter or plane carring water that drops onto the source of the fire and around it so the vegetation would be too wet for the fire to spread. Fire fighters comes in not to hose it down with water but has a sort of rake looking tool that they use to make a barrier of dirt without any vegetation so the fire cannot spread. Its a very dangerous career because fires can be huge and can overlap the dead or wet vegetation and reach the other side where the plants is dry and when catching on fire continue to spread and can sometime trap fire fighters which had happened.

    Hope I helped.

  2. Smokey the Bear puts out forest fires.

  3. God mostly.    My father worked on a fire for weeks one time making very little progress.   Then it rained for a couple days and killed the fire completely.
