This chick commented on a question I posted the other day (I say comment bc she never answered the question) and gave unwanted advice. The situation I asked about I believe I handled well, but I was asking how I should followup the situation without overreacting. She claimed to be a life coach. In my opinion her "advice" sucked bc it was nothing new. I am not ragging on anyone, this is an honest question. I am someone who enjoys seminars, self improvement keep learning type things, so I've heard alot, and everytime I have heard a "life coach" speak (or type in her case) they say the same things it is very textbook. The same things u can read online. I know generally they are to provide support to enhance skills (etc) that the client already has. So my question is can't anyone do that? They promote positivity in a person's life which is great, but ppl should be living that way anyway. In my past I have been told that that would be a great career for me bc I'm so positive and try to encourage alot; I have a great life, i'm happy, have a great family, financially secure, great career; but i'm far from perfect so im like what would make me an authority. So what qualifies them? I know there are classes, etc etc. But as a person specifically, are their lives that great? (or better? no shortcomings?)to be telling another person about their shortcomings and ways to improve. What do u think? Life coaches who answer, what brought u into the career? how did u decide thats what u wanted to do? Are all aspects of your life on point? Did your life get better, bc u were helping ppl more? Honest answers only.
