Who really cares about Britney Spears?

I mean, is she really news? Does she really rate 3 minutes of coverage on the news? Does America really give a rats patoot or is this another way the corp media dumbs us down by feeding us junk instead of real news?

Personally I find it frustrating that the corp media does NOT provide news, they have become more of a talk show.

Do you think people would rather know what is going on in their country and around the world we live in, or would you rather see updates on britney?

The media don't "feed" people! they might be politically biased but they wont report something that people aren't interested in! a survey showed magazine covers with pictures of Britney sold 33 percent more than average. (people bought them they didn't force people!)

Yes, there is political bias obviously. to some networks for example a statistical comparison showed that Fox spent twice the time MSNBC spent on Anna Nicole smith but far less time on on Iraq war. But their ratings didn't drop!!

To sum it up, they don't need to 'dumb people up' people are already dumb

As a journalist i can say people would rather watch news about britney spears than news about iraq.

People generally prefer lighter news as life is hard enough without hearing about wars and conflict.

People are fascinated by celebrities and their downfalls.

the only reason she gets the coverage she gets is it is easier to cover a subject that has no depth than something you have to put thought into.....also total ignorance is funny to some people....hopefully the time will come people get saturated with this kind of coverage and tune to places where they can find things that matter to their life
