u.s. citizens, will you vote for her (or not vote for her) on the simple grounds that she calls herself a feminist as some claim (though i haven't seen this statement verified)?

  1. America.

  2. If she indeed dares to call herself a feminist I say she takes the prize of the decade for chutzpah. A perfect team mate for McCain and his adviser Karl Rove.

  3. I do..

I will never support or vote for anyone who subscribed to feminism.

  4. She is a member of Feminists for Life. She makes up her own decisions and is not afraid to buck her own Corrupt Party officials. Which is a breath of Fresh Air. She hunts, fishes, shoots, is into outdoor sports and is her own person. In other words she makes her own decisions. To some Feminists unless she is Pro Abortion she is not a Feminist. She is a devoted Christian. That also is an anti Feminist stance to many Feminists who call Christians GodBags and Christofascists. See Amanda Marcotte of Pandagon.net and Melissa McEwan of Shakespeare's Sister. Both worked for the John Edwards campaign. And were forced to resign for their Bigotry.

She had a Down's syndrome baby, and kept it without aborting the child. She is consistent in her personal morality. She has admitted to smoking Weed and said she inhaled. Something Bill Clinton did not do. So she has a strong honest streak about her.

  5. I wouldn't vote for her if you had a rifle pointed at the base of my neck.

    I'd elect a houseplant first.

  6. She can call herself whatever she likes, lots of women say they're feminists and I don't consider them ones. She's anti-equal pay; that makes her anti-feminist economically. I don't see what she's done for women politically. So she's non-feminist there at best. Socially, since she disagrees with just about every stance the majority of feminists believe in (abortion, g**s, health care issues, war, guns) I can't see how she is a feminist socially, anything but. It'd be different if she supported a mixture of social issues, but she's far right-wing all the way, no exceptions. She isn't thinking for herself, she's a right-wing clone of Bush and Reagan. She can call herself a vegetarian L*****n anarchist and I"m not believing she's a feminist, nor am I voting for her.

btw: Palin is NOT pro birth control if she believes the tenets of the Feminist's for Life group: "Gov. Palin is a prominent member of Feminists For Life, a fundamentalist group advocating prison for doctors who perform abortions under any circumstances.  FFL also opposes birth control, even for married couples.":

    Palin on Abortion article:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/01...

"Democrats and abortion rights advocates say her stance, specifically her unwillingness to grant her own child a choice to end a pregnancy induced by rape, is drastically at odds with public opinion -- even among many Republicans."  plus

Palin is quoted saying"she would fund abstinence-only education programs in schools"

FYI: Palin's 17 year old daughter is 5 months pregnant-guess that abstinence-only education really works, eh?

  7. I can't believe that she would ever call herself a feminist, when she is obviously anti-women's rights. No woman that opposes abortion even in cases or rape and incest should be able to call herself a feminist.

  8. If I was a US citizen and knew that she called herself a feminist, I wouldn't vote for her on the grounds that she has delusional thinking!

    Cheers :-)

  9. She's an advocate of intelligent design "theory."  That is enough for me to discount her, regardless of whether she is a feminist or not.

  10. Put on your America hats!

I didn't know she might be a feminist....though, remember, we're not voting for HER, we're voting for McCain- remember?

  11. When a politician calls them self or aligns them self with a particular cause or "agenda" every voting citizen should care.  It may effect the way the politician rules and shows bias towards their favorites.  It's called common sense.  You're supposed to be a politician, not a feminist or a racist or a whatever-ist.

  12. I don't care that she's a feminist (I'm not)

    I don't care that she's rabidly pro-life (I'm extremely conservative pro-choice)

I don't care that she's had very limited overall political experience.

I do care that she's had more executive experience than Biden, Obama and McCain combined.

I do care that she has gone above and beyond when getting corrupt officials out of office.

I do care that she's campaigned and succeeded to get Alaska to drill in it's own state so they can reduce their dependence of foreign oil.

    I do care that she's cut Alaska's budget ten-fold.

I do care that she's made Alaska a prosperous state and picked them up when their former governor was just driving them into the mud.

I do care that she truly does represent the typical American and American family.

I do care that she's young and fresh and has some great ideas.

  13. How could she be a feminist if she is against the right for abortion or pro life? Isn't that against women since it's against what a woman can do with her own body? She seems to have a decent amount of conservative views too, generally it seems that feminists are more on the liberal side of things too.

  14. Canadian citizen: I would not vote for her. She may call herself a feminist, but I've never seen much evidence that she is one.

  15. I don't, she is simply a ploy for votes but unqualified to govern. The attacks that Obama is not ready is hypocritical. He went to America's most prestigious University by earning his way there, worked as a lawyer, and has been in the US senate for 4 years. The same place McCain Works! She went to Idaho University base on the perkiness of her bosom and for two years has governed a state with fewer people than over 20 American Cities. Is the mayor of Milwaukee qualified to lead the nation? He governs more people. McCain would be the oldest first term president ever and he shows a terrific lack of judgment in his selection of Palin.

  16. I'm voting for her-- she has some pretty impressive stats.  Is she a feminist?  I don't know, but I won't vote based on that.  She is a strong advocator for birth control, equal rights, and equal pay for both genders.  While I don't agree with everything she believes, you'll never find a politician you agree 100% with.  Palin brings a lot to the Republican card and balances out McCain very well.  I'm pretty excited about her, honestly.

  17. I care if she is a feminist and I would care if she was a racist for similar reasons http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...
