I'm starting to think George Lucas didn't make the first 3 star wars films.

Because watch those then watch these new prequel films.

The magic is lost somewhere along the way...

I also hate how he says star wars is a tale of anakin....

theres a whole universe in star wars ...alot more going on than just anakin

  1. His brother John made the first three and George took credit....

    Ur an idiot

  2. George Lucas!

  3. George Lucas directed the first one and Irvin Kershner directed  The Empire Strikes Back while Richard Marquand directed The Return of The Jedi. However George Lucas has written all six of them. I hated The Phantom of the Menace but I think the last 2 were okay. Revenge of the Sith is the best out of all 3 definitely

You just answered your own question.

  4. Lucas wrote all six episodes and directed ep 1 - 4.  and Irvin Kershner directed ep V while Richard Marquand directed ep VI. He actually wanted his good friend Spielburg to direct ep V but problems with the "studio" and other c**p in "Stupidwood" wouldn't allow that.

As for the "changes" ... well it irks me also when Lucas says the story is all about Anakin ... he has changed that statement many times and is now saying it is the story of the Skywalker family and the way a few powerful people can affect the history of a galaxy.  In the end that is what the 6 movies are about ... the Skywalker family and the tremendous impact they had on the galaxy far, far, away.  Yes, there is a lot more going on than just that but the movies CENTER on their impact to the story.  I can't even imagine how jumbled things would be if he tried to tell every little story that was going on in the galaxy at that time.

In truth what we are seeing is the George Lucas form of revisionist history.  Everybody knows it started out with 12 episodes but he says that's not true.  Everybody knows he cut it to 9 episodes but he says that's not true either.  Well, everybody also knows that he is lying about it too.  The first working title of ep V proves that ... what was it ... it was called "2 of 12" ... kind of a funny title if there was always supposed to be only 6 episodes.

The only part of the 6 Star Wars movies that is what it was meant to be back when it all started is ep IV:  A New Hope.  The other 5 movies show almost no signs of being what he first started with.  One of the biggest "Shatterpoints" for the story was when Lucas decided to combine the characters of Luke's father, he didn't have a name at that time, and the character of Darth Vader ... no, in the first story line Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader were NOT the same person.  Remember how everyone thought Obi-Wan had lied to Luke in ep IV when he said his father was betrayed and murdered by Darth Vader a pupil of his that had turned to the dark side.  When he said it ... it wasn't a lie.  It wasn't until Lucas made the change that it became a lie.  You can actually "blame" that change on Leigh Brackett as it was her idea when her and Kasdan were adapting the story line written by Lucas into the screenplay for the movie.  You may notice that her name is not associated with ep VI ... that is because she died shortly after the script for ep V was finished.

I could ramble on for hours ... I mean that too ... but it would be easier if you were to find the book titled "The Secret History Of Star Wars".  It can only be found on line but it is a well researched look into how the story of Star Wars changed and changed and change over the years as Lucas added more ... took some out ... took some more out ... then added more ... you get the picture.  About 25 % of the book can be debunked as theory not fact the rest of it is an amazing read about how Star Wars became the most popular Sci-Fantasy saga of all time ... Of course it is basically the only entry into the Sci-Fantasy section but it is still the best saga ... lol ...

A bit of advice to you ... don't let your anger cloud your judgment.  Lucas DID create this story all by himself for the most part and the fact that it has changed over the years from what it started out as to what it has actually become is not a reason to get so insanely mad about it ... Learn about it then you will understand why things happened the way they did ... surprisingly Lucas can answer most of your questions ... he just choses not to and has created his "new history" of Star Wars.  It doesn't match what he started out with but it is what we have ended up with and to steal a line from Obi-Wan ... from my "certain point of view" ... it's a pretty d**n good story and one that will be with me until I drawn my last breath.

May The Force Be With You ...

  5. George wrote the story of Star Wars and directed some of them. In the prequels, its all about Anakin and his fall to the dark side. Cuz if he didn't go to the dark side, then there wouldn't be episodes 4-6.
