Until now, Malaysia still pay the rent to Sulu Heirs. Sulu Heirs are telling Malaysia that the rent is not enough enough for that such a big Land.

  1. That's an unanswered question but historically the Sabah is owned by the Sultan of Sulu. He leased Sabah in to the British Company, which in turn transferred its eterna leasehold to the british Goverment.
In 1963, the British Goverment turned over Sabah to Malaysia. Thus, Sabah is politically under Malaysia. The heirs of the Sultan of Sulu still insist that they own it.

I hope that it may help you ... :)
