Who reckons Sting should lose credibility for his ego?

Sting is the only huge name in wrestling to have never worked for the wwe. This may be unique but really in doing so we never got to see him wrestle many top names in the wrestling buisness. The only explanation i heard was a video i watched of Sting explaining that he thought WWE would misuse his character. I can see his point, because WWE did trash a lot of top names from the WCW era (DDP, Goldberg). However WWE didnt totally trash these guys, they are responsible for being entertaining themselves to a degree, and why would WWE misuse talent purposefully when it could draw them money. Anyway, say if WWE did trash stars from other companies, as wrestling fans we have respect that these guys put their ego's aside to work for McMahon and have some matches we've never seen before. Sting protected his ego and his character and in other words he looked after his own interests before the fans and whole wrestling buisness that made him simply because he didnt want his character misused. Well i think as fans this does the opposite for Sting and we lose respect for this guy for his selfish actions. We can tell when a company tries to trash stars (look what Russo did to Hogan) but it doesnt work because we still love the stars and know when they try to make sacrifices for the greater good. Sting is a selfish and self-centred. I believe his unwillingness as the only start to work for the WWE is not a testament of uniqueness but of the one big star who is too selfish and stubborn to care about anyone but his own interests. That said i dont take any credibility away from his wrestling abilities as i enjoy his wrestling stuff as i know many others do.

  1. If Sting was going to go to WWE, he should have done so years ago. I remember reading in the old wrestling magazines about the grudge matches between Sting and the Nature Boy. When Rick Flair went to WWE, the Hulkster was still the big thing. Based on this I would have thought that Sting would also be getting a bit long in the tooth.

Methinks WM72 and Azz be twins

  2. You make some good points but I trust Sting on his decision I think that he's working for TNA now because it's the better place to work there's a relaxed traveling schedule and they allow him time off when he needs it. I think that it is too late in his career to go to WWE. He's suppose to retire at the end of this year.

  3. You know what this has also always frustrated me and working for tna isn't doing him any favours. I also think it is coming to the stage that it is to late for him to come to wwe. Maybe about 5 years ago would of been perfect and he could of had a good run but it is to late now.

  4. i think sting needs to learn more moves then a sting splash, scorpion deathlock and scorpion deathdrop.. or get a new gimmick... such a old and stale gimmick...  Atleast flair still had it after all these years...hogan no he eventually lost it especially with all the media attention hes getting these days. and Rock boy he was great on the mic but in the ring he could of trained at the gym and ring little bit longer... and Austin he needed to learn how to wrestle instead just fist and knees and stomps.... Ok

  5. I don't think his ego is the reason he doesn't want to work for the WWE. They wouldn't know what to do with him. They would ruin his character just like they haver done to many wrestlers. Or for a little while they use him then he's nothing to them. It happens all the time I wouldn't want to go to WWE either

  6. Steve Borden (Sting) can come to the WWE and I love to see him do so. He can write creative control into his contract, it would be a little annoying (all that legal stuff) because WWE wants creative control, but they would probably welcome him and submit to his demands.

Hogan made a career of demanding creative control, and if he weren't in such bad physical shape WWE and himself would still have him in the ring.

Steve is a good man. He is a Christian and he's working elsewhere like TNA to do his part. This brings me back to inter-federation matches. Sting is the perfect reason WWE and TNA should duo-event once in a while.

  7. When you put a MAIN EVENT credible wrestler like Dusty Rhodes into polka-dots, then there is problems. When you put an above average wrestler as Terry Taylor into a Rooster Gimmick, then wrestlers will start noticing. The list goes on and on. Sting is speaking on history.
