Who remembers wonderland???

remember wonderland in sydney, australia? not so long ago i found out that it's been closed down and demolished :(

what were your favourite rides? any nice memories of the place?

last time i went there it was about 12 years ago. i had always dreamt of visiting wonderland again...but it's impossible now!

anyways my favorite ride had to be 'The Beast'. It was a rollercoaster ride :)

i remember going on that ride as a kid and nearly dying lol

I loved that place. I had my 10th birthday there. And it was like the only theme park in NSW :'(

I loved Wonderland!!

Now, in terms of fun parks... Sydney hasn't got much to offer at all!

Except Luna Park which is a real let down if you ask me, after-all Wonderland was built as an alternative to Luna Park due to all the troubles there, and due to it being closed multiple times.

My favorite ride was "Space Probe"! The view from up there was amazing!

I remember the first time I drove past the old Wonderland site since it had closed and I almost cried, lol. I could see bulldosing in progress and The Bush Beast had been removed! And their was just dirt as far as the eye could see.

It really is heartbreaking to drive past it now days, what once was a place of such fun and excitement is now an over -developed industrial area with factories everywhere.

I can't believe that the government let it be demolished.

The park was sold in 1997 to the Sunway Group.

Despite many efforts to have The Bush Beast heritage listed it still ended up been destroyed!

Which is such a shame as it was the tallest wooden roller coasted in the Southern Hemisphere, and had been for nearly twenty years.

I also remember their was a water park in Wonderland known as "The Beach". Unfortunately I never got an opportunity to visit that part. :(

I still have a photo of myself and some friends on Space Probe on the last day the park was open. The gates shut for the last time on Anzac Day 25 April 2004.

I have such fond memories of visiting Wonderland as a child and its such a shame that those of us who had such great times there will never get to experience Wonderland with our own children...

D: I miss that place, and my favourite ride was the beast aswell, when i was little i got scared of the fake cemetary which had glowing red eyes o.o

MMEEE MEEE!!

I loved the demon.. even if i was scared the whole time.. And the space probe.. I remember how scary it was getting to the top, really good veiw.. and then BAM! back at the bottom again..

The last time i went there, there were no lines because it was a cold day and rainy.. so we got to go on as much rides as we wanted..without waiting all day..

Its been closed for a few years now.. I miss it soo much.. I didnt get to go there on the last days of wonderland.. and thinking of it now makes me sad.. I wanted to get some memories.. like steal a sign or something..

I drive past the wonderland site sometimes, and its so empty.. no more space probe in the distance, no more massive bush beast..

I miss it so much.. Now all sydney has is luna park, and that wont even compare to wonderland.

Theres also a wonderland site somewhere on the internet, with pictures of wonderland.. and stuff like that..

I would do anything just to go back to wonderland just one last time.. $31 for a ticket.. unlimited fun..
