What you need to remember is that in many states this is illegal to do unless it is done by the dealership.

I already know that many people will not agree with this but understand that you are "fixing" but it can be looked at as tampering.

Contact your local Department of Motor Vehicle first and ask them if this is acceptable what you are trying to do.

If they say yes, you will need to make a copy of the receipt and keep it with you in the event that you should decide to ever sell the vehicle, that receipt will keep you from a possible heavy fine.
