  2. I don't know who said that, but I would define courage as the confidence in being able to avoid harm when one confronts a perceived potential harm. As for fear, it is the lack of confidence or strong uncertainty when confronted with the same situations. For instance, if a large boulder is falling from an overhead cliff and is coming directly toward you, fear is what makes you run to get out of the way.

    Courage is when you are confronted by belligerent people, but you have the confidence that you will either be able to quell their animosity or defeat them in battle if they initiate it.
