Coming at it from another angle, the american scientist Edwin Land (who was one of the developers of polaroid film) said:

"Creativity is the sudden cessation of stupidity."

I must admit that I quite like that.

I've never heard of that - and if it's an actual quote then whoever said it is plain wrong.

I know quite a few creative people are as thick as shite.

To the person below - creativity is not the same as imagination.

Yes I've seen the quote A fresh face is talking about on a WH Smiths bag, although I agree some creative people can be dim but it doesn't contradict this as it is only a sign, other signs could be wit helped with a good vocabulary.
